Semantic Research, Inc will be showing the newly re-designed version of Semantica Pro 4.2 at the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) conference at the San Diego Convention Center throughout the week of March 16 through 20, 2008. This enables concept map representations of interconnected people, places, things, events and ideas to be output in a format that can be represented in the GoogleEarth standard GIS representation language. With the click of a button in Semantica, users can display full concept map representations overlaid on a .KML compliant map such as GoogleEarth -- geocoded elements touch down on the earth where appropriate, and non-georeferenced elements are connected and hover at altitude over the surface.

Development of a Request For Information and Knowledge Management Training Program by Semantic Research Inc and McMunn Associates, Inc

Semantic Research and McMunn Associates, Inc are jointly developing an online tutorial and a semantic network-based knowledge representation program for DIA's Counter Narcotics Trafficking (CNT) Office. This new Request For Information management tool will soon be available online. This training will support the entire counter narcotics community, both Department of Defense and Law Enforcement, furthering DIA's goal of increasing community online interaction.

The project combines Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Translation (MT), semantic networking and other techniques to assist in the development and exploitation of D&D MOs from multiple sources.
 
Semantic Research Expands/Moves to New Offices

Semantic Research, Inc. has moved to their new West Coast Headquarters at 4922 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92106. All phones and other contact information remain as before. Television viewers of a certain age will recognize the building as being the former home of MTV's 2003 Real World San Diego show. Pictures of the office in its celebrity phase can be found here. The more than 10,000 square foot facility gives Semantic Research ample room to expand as it grows.
 
Semantic Research to Exhibit at the SWANS conference

Semantic Research will be exhibiting this week at the SWANS (Semantic Web Applications for National Security) conference being jointly sponsored by The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's Information Exploitation Office and the Federal CIO Council's Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice (SICoP) "to illustrate the capabilities of the semantic web and showcase some leading-edge implementations in the national security area". Semantic Research will demonstrate the current version of Semantica, along with new capabilities for interoperability with legacy databases, and will discuss plans in the coming Semantica 4.0.x releases for additional support for import/export of XML, RDF/RDFS, OWL, XTM and related file formats, along with more formal support for concept and relationship ontologies.
