Unstructured Data

In addition to querying structured data repositories, Semantica has an optional modular capability for automatically exploiting the relevant information contained within unstructured text. Semantic Research incorporates a ground breaking natural language processing (NLP) technology that allows users to ask natural language questions of all the documents and have the tool return relevant passages. This capability allows the analyst to ask specific questions such as "What cargo vessels routinely dock near the port of Haiti?" or "What individuals have routinely served as crew on board the Sea Star vessel?" The tool then returns the passages from all the documents in the index that contain answers to the questions asked. The analyst can then review the source documents and either manually extract the relevant entities from them, or automatically extract the relevant data from the documents to create the nodal view as shown in the image below.
